Subject: Absolute beauty on this show and 17th and 19th.
This whole run is PLF at its absolute best. Wonderful set selections, wonderful musicians, wonderful long jams, and the recording quality is just lovely, all the instruments harmonize in the most perfect way.

Almost the entire show is highlights. "Hurts me too" is wonderfully emotional, as is "Death Dont Have No Mercy." There's also an awesome " I know you Rider" and "Goin Down the Road". This show is just amazing, as is the 12/17/04 and 12/19/04 shows. Download now and listen for a lifetime! Love & Peace...

Subject: the song 40 days
The song 40 days appears on a Chris Robinson solo disc called This Magnificent Distance. Its a great lp as is his other solo disc New earth Mud. Oh, this show is great as well. I love the audio quality, and I love Chris singing these songs. This is not just a Grateful dead tribute. I think of all the groups that come from the ashes of the Grateful dead, PL and friends is by far the strongest

PS DeadheadDan...That was some heavy stuff you were going through at the time. Sounds like someone was channeling through the band to you

Subject: Starts slow and then kaboom...
Black Peter on is off the charts especially Dark Star, Eclipse, Terrapin, IKYR, Watchtower is unbelievable.

Not sure what came over them I guess they figured this was a '3' in the making and busted out a 6 on the back end.

Subject: Holy Jeez
Wow what a smokin show. A buddy sent this to me a month ago and I finally got around to listening. Seriously on fire throughout the entire show. The Terrapin gave me goosebumps. I am not a fan of anybody covering Jerry lyrics besides Chris. I love you Phil, you are what the spirit of days past are still all about. Download it now you wont be disappointed!!!!!

Thanks 'BornDead'... Indeed, You Are A Friend of Mine! Your kind words have made my day.

(Original Review) 1/6/05: I just finished listening to this show from start to finish, and man, all I can say is my morning has been full of goosebumps and tears. My sister (32 years old) passed away the night before this show. The 18th was the day of her wake. When I found out the news I was completely stunned while pacing my house and wondering what the hell to do with myself. Well, I went with a loud jam session of Omni 4/2/90 because of the sick Foolish Heart and the final version of Death Don't Have No Mercy. It helped hearing Jerry's voice tremendously.

Needless to say, I was stunned when I saw the Death Don't on this setlist because it is a rarely played tune and it was my personal anthem during that long strange trip last month. I look at this 12/18 P&F show as a cosmic and spiritual tribute to my big sis. Not only did they play a Terrapin Station, which was her favorite tune, but the Death Don't, China Doll and Knockin on Heaven's Door all resonate incredibly and ease my soul. I consider the song selections as yet another bit of that Dead synchronicity, which makes them the band beyond description. Thanks Phil!!

This show deserves five stars without the personal aesthetics though. The lineup is fresh and the band sounds crisp and clean but without having sacrificed that classic P&F "muscle" in their sound. The steel pedal on Dire Wolf and violin on Peggy-O are gorgeous touches, and it's great to have JGB's backup singers back in the fold. Never was much of Chris Robinson fan but his vocals sound strong as well.

Subject: Our family is missing one
I am rewriting my review because of Dan and his/our Sister!
This is what family /shows/the right thing...etc. are all about.
Phil didnt know about Her passing but in a way all at the show were connected.
That thing you cant explain when the music/bond starts.
I was at the final "Death" in ATL '90.
I am 32 years old.
I must have felt something or I would not be writing.
The entire show was played as a night to remeber a passed away loved one.
Dan wasnt the only Head hangin low on this stellar show.
DIREWOLF
LONESOME VALLEY
IT HURTS ME TOO
BLACK PETER
DARKSTAR
DEATH DHNM
IMAGINE
TERRAPIN
RIDER
GDTRFB
HEAVENS DOOR
all of these songs have the refrences.
I labeled Dan and our Sister on the inside of my cds.
...They love each other!!!!!!
100 star show.
thanks Phil!

Subject: YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phil and his assorted group of old and new friends continue to astound. Eclipse! What's Become Of The Baby!! SICK!!
Phil continues to be the shining star of the remaining GD members. The GD was about experimentation and change as well as tapping into something a little bit beyond one person, it has always been a group experience. Phil continues to try new things as well as bust out the old but not forgotten.
Rock on Phil!!
Rock on Archive!
Thanks Phil for the FREE killer sounboards.
